A Steady Rain
For Barebones Productions

What lighting designer would say no to an empty stage with 2 chairs and a desk? The play is a look at two characters whose lives turn 180 degrees over the course of 100 minutes. Of course it is so much more than just that and the play shifts locations and layers in psyche in a heartbeat. How you help the audience understand the varied richness is up to you, the artist. Melissa Martin was the director and we have done a few plays together. She is very lighting designer friendly. Patrick Jordan, who runs the company and was in the production, was the set designer ( with a little help by myself and Melissa). David Bjornson was the sound designer. This was produced in the New Hazlett Theater. I cut my teeth in this room many years ago and it was a pleasure to do a griping play like this again in such a great space.
